Local wine merchant Novel Wines voted ‘Best Wine Merchant’ in Somerset by customers

Novel Wines, based in Bath, has been named winner of the ‘Best Wine Merchant’ in Somerset by the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2018. The award is voted for by customers and fans.

Thousands of people in Somerset voted in the yearly awards held by Muddy Stilettos, a lifestyle blog celebrating unique and unmissable businesses in over 15 different counties. For Bath and Somerset, voters could support their favourite local businesses in 24 different lifestyle categories, ranging from Best Hairdresser to Best Boutique Stay.

Novel Wines was voted Best Wine Merchant (Somerset), a great achievement for a business that is just 18 months old. Ben Franks, a member of the West of England Wine & Spirits Association committee and Novel Wines CEO, said he felt “honoured and grateful to all the amazing customers who supported the company by voting”.

This achievement will be a further reason to celebrate with their second Annual Wine Tasting Party, which will take place at the Hilton City Hotel in Bath on the 22nd September. The annual event marks the second anniversary since Novel Wines started trading and is one of the city’s largest wine tasting events.

Shortly after winning the prestigious Muddy Stilettos Award, founders Ben and Gyorgy announced they would be hiring their first member of staff, Marina Pellegrini, in a Sales & Marketing role. The local wine merchant is now looking to new horizons to grow its business for unique and unusual wines.
