A Merry Christmas from your Chairman
Christmas is fast approaching and I and all the committee want to send you our warmest wishes for Christmas and the New Year. 2020 will no doubt go down as a year many of us would rather forget and we have found ourselves as an Association looking at life very differently.
We are not going to be able to hold our annual lunch on Monday 1st February, on the plus side that means you don’t get a speech from me. Our AGM will still go ahead via a Zoom meeting and details will be sent to you in due course and we hope that after the AGM you will stay online for some virtual drinks.
We have a range of events planned for for 2021 and these will be sent to you shortly, we remain mindful of social distancing regulations which could impact on our planned events.
Our education team of Lys Hall and Tim Johnson have moved mountains to maintain our superb wine education courses and we really appreciate their passion for wine. If you’d like to know more about our wine education services please do get in touch.
We are also having to say goodbye to our President Christopher Fielden who has decided to finally hang up his wine educator hat and pass on the baton of President. We do want to thank him for all that he has done for our association over the years including a spell as Chairman and we do wish him a very happy retirement.
The time of year for our annual subscription approaches and we are more than mindful of the challenges facing many businesses in the hospitality sector and to help with that we hope our approach to subscriptions this year finds favour. We intend donating 50% of your renewal to the Drinks Trust so they can continue to support those in greatest need at this trying time for the hospitality sector.
Thank you for supporting your association, we are here to serve you and the whole committee join with me to wish you a Happy Christmas and a prosperous new year.
