WSET Level 4 Diploma Award
Cost: £1,850.00 per semester (2 semesters)
Fee includes: All tuition, tasting samples, WSET course materials, WSET exam fees; free parking, teas, coffees and nibbles at the venue.
The Diploma is a specialist qualification where detailed knowledge is combined with commercial factors and a thorough system for the professional evaluation of wines and spirits.
The Level 4 Diploma is designed to prepare people for responsible jobs within the wine and spirits business. The course will not only develop product knowledge to a specialist level, but will also enable you to acquire skills, eg. in research and report writing, that will continue to be of use beyond the course. For those not in the trade but simply fascinated by wines and spirits it is a chance to acquire knowledge at a deeper level.
What is involved in the course
The course consists of 16 days teaching (and a couple more for exams). You can start in either January or September each year. You can take the units at your own pace.
Most students try to complete the course in 12 months, but it is possible to spread it over a longer period to suit you.
Lectures are from 9am until 5pm and our lecturers include Masters of Wine, Winemakers, importers and specialist retailers or experts in their field, please refer to meet the lecturers.
The fee includes all course materials and samples. One of our lecture days is a vineyard visit.
Students are registered initially for three years which allows flexibility in matching periods of study with other work-related commitments. It is possible to extend the registration period if you need more time.
The diploma is divided into 6 units all of which must be passed before the Diploma is awarded.
You will also be made a member of the West of England Wine and Spirit Association, free of charge, and that membership continues for two years after the course has finished.
We welcome anyone moving in to the area, or wishing to take a few remaining modules. Those starting Part A will pay the WSET registration fee in addition to the course fee. The price of each Part is currently £1850, We will be able to let you know how much any individual module will cost too. The price may have to be revised when we know what exam fees will be for the next academic year, but will let you know as soon as we have that information.
